Final Outcome:
I was very pleased with the outcome of my make-up and hair work for the timed assessment which was a creation of my partner's design. I feel that the makeup and hair have reflected well of the design proposal received from my partner. My partner designed a historical take on Frl. Kost and used a soft 1920/30 makeup look with thin, arched eyebrows, soft brown eyes and a striking red lip. I correctly followed the hair diagrams and set the hair in the instructed directions.
During the timed assessment, my time management went well and I produced a satisfactory look on time for photographing. I had no obvious issues with the makeup, other than the lips taking longer than anticipated. With the hair, I had a slight problem with the waves. My model had very clean and soft hair which was a little harder to work with than hair types I have worked with before. I blame this on the fact that I didn't practise the style on my model/partner. I managed to overcome this with securing the finger waves with grips that I managed to disguise within the hair. Unfortunately, not all grips were hidden and some can be seen in the images. What I would have liked to improve on was this particular challenge and to use products that would have aided me in keeping better control of the hair. Despite this being a minor issue, I fell that the rest of the hairstyle was well executed.
